A traditional yoga practice integrating asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and dhyana (meditation).
This sequence developed by spiritual master Sri Sri Ravi Shankar takes yoga to a whole other level. The sequence begins with a specific set of traditional yoga postures that are held for 4 to 6 breaths. It is then followed by Nadi Shodana, a breathing technique that balances the hemispheres of the brain, and then by a 20 minute practice of meditation. The class is practiced with eyes closed in a meditative atmosphere. Padma Sadhana is not a physically demanding practice but it is perhaps the most advanced form of yoga in the sense that it requires students to control their breath, quiet their minds and keep a meditative silence throughout the class.

The Art of Living Foundation is an international non-profit organization established in over 150 countries with the vision of uplifting individuals and communities through empowering workshops and service initiatives. Art of Living workshops are offered at Om West with studio owners Antoine Tinawi and Pamela Gooria who are certified Art of Living teachers. They have been studying directly with Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for over 2 decades and are among the most experienced Art of Living teachers in Canada. Om West is glad to be a hub for Art of Living activities enabling individuals to learn the necessary tools to cope with the stress and pressure of everyday life.
Learn techniques to gain mastery over your mind and to cope with daily stress such as Pranayama breathing techniques and the unique practice of Sudarshan Kriya (SKY). SKY is designed to allow individuals to free themselves from past impressions in the mind and to purify their bodies from toxins caused by stress, pollution, or lifestyle. You will acquire a home practice and gain access to weekly follow-up sessions at Om West or anywhere in the world.
Art of Meditation
Learn a traditional meditation practice called Sahaj Samadhi. Sahaj means effortless and Samadhi is a higher state of consciousness. It is a practice that allows us to reach our highest potential in a natural and effortless manner. You will receive a mantra initiation, learn a traditional meditation practice and acquire a home practice.
Art of Living Founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has given several detailed commentaries on some of Yoga's most valuable scriptures such as Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Each week we gather to watch one video recording and then discuss the content as a group.
This purifying breathing practice is offered as a weekly follow-up for students who have completed the Art of Living's Happiness Program.
